KeyArena is not good enough for the Sonics to call it home after 41 years. I see no good reason for the Portland Trailblazers to call it home for even one game.
The Mayor of Seattle, Greg Nickels sold out the lease two years early to franchise owners that have lost most of their wealth, to leave to a city struggling to pay for upgrades to the Ford Center.
Now that is a visionary, the guy that testified that "anything could happen" in those last two years choked.

Once upon a time Seattle had a multi-use sports and entertainment facility. Add seats,wider concourses, a couple restaurants, and presto! Back to the future.

The Bellevue question: It's been kicked around a bit, and since it's all quiet on the arena front in Seattle until maybe there's a special session called, the drumbeat for Bellevue to jump into the fray seems to be getting louder. In spite of Steve Ballmer's previous dismissal to build an arena there. I think it goes without saying that Bellevue is capable economically and has the corporate infrastructure, fanbase and hotels that the NBA and NHL drool over. It's all speculation and wishful thinking at this point. But if they want to make it happen they could.
Here's something you might be interested in Mr Baker. Looks like Nick Licata may have a legitimate challenger.
