I definately support the endorsement of Mallahan over McGinn. I'm perplexed with the ideals of someone who if elected would cause grist and eminity with Olympia than the Nickels administration ever caused, and then think he would be able to get his ideas even considered if he were to assume he would be re-elected 3 times.
Switching gears a bit. I'm curious again about plausible solutions in the vein of a venue in Seattle but not at Key Arena/Seattle Center. I recall that the city has made the parking lot north of Qwest field available for development. This could eventually be very interesting if a developer vis-a-vis potential ownership group could possibly get something going in that direction. It seems like it could be a good fit.

that is it in a nutshell
I supported the surface option while it was clearly up for debate. at some point I thought that a 7 lane wide street, similar to Aurora North of 145th in Shoreline. But the bill has been passed with much debate in Olympia, it was kind of ugly. To un-do that and expect those same Seattle haters to jump on board after a two year battle is stupid, no matter how much I like the idea. It is simply not realistic.
Nick Licata is dragging his feet because the Pramanade is not fully funded. He tip-toed around abstaining from the MOA vote, but he looked like an ass doing it on video (city stream vs Jessie Israel).
There should be a surface option on top of the tunnel.
All of the rest of his promises are empty without being able to make good on the tunnel battle.
Yeah I looked up Qwest parking lot after I threw my two cents out there. But as far as the parking situation they would use the garage next to Safeco. But it's a moot point.
In one of the mayoral "debates" last week both candidates were asked, Yes or No, would they support a Seattle Center levy in 2010 or 2011. They both indicated Yes, but that is not the interesting part, that would be that somebody asked that question. Somebody is thinking about it enough to get that question asked.

I think you could fit an arena there but not the parking.
Condos, mixed use.
